Deborah Mell, the daughter of long-time Chicago Ald. Dick Mell, faced a second court hearing May 5, stemming from her arrest at a same-sex marriage rally earlier this year. The case has been continued until May 19. Mell is charged with battery causing bodily harm and could face 364 days in jail. She was the only activist arrested at the protest.
Bishop Larry Trotter of Sweet Holy Water Baptist Church was expected to deliver petitions against same-sex marriage to Mayor Daley and Gov. Blagojevich Monday, according to a news report on Sunday's Channel 7 news.
