LGBTQ women's music event 'Still Rising' on Aug. 21

Still Risingfor LGBTQ women DJs, producers, promoters and their allieswill take place Saturday, Aug. 21, at Epiphany Center for the Arts, 201 S. Ashland Ave.
There will be a mixer, workshops and, of course, music at the event that Lori Branch and Hannah Kate are organizing.
Doors open at 4 p.m., with workshops commencing at 5 p.m. The workshops include "Mastering the Mixer," with Ariel Retina and Lady D; "Queer Parenting," with Simone Koehlinger, PsyD; and "Crafting Your Identity and Brand," with DJ Tess and All The Way Kay. There will also be a "Behind the Booth: Speakers Series" with DJ Psycho-B and Teri Bristol, Ariel Zetina and Pat McCombs. The event will then conclude with DJ sets from All the Way Kay, DJ Dreea, DJ Melody, DJ Psycho-B, Lady D and VITIGRRL.
