StoryStudio Chicago, 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave., is offering a new course on writing stories from a queer perspective.
Conceived by author Jeremy Owens, this class focuses on LGBTQ+ nonfiction writing, and it starts Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6:30-9 p.m. This course is open to all writers, at any level.
Owens is the creator, producer and host of You're Being Ridiculous, a long running live-lit show most recently featured at Steppenwolf Theatre as part of its LookOut Series; he is also the co-editor for Heauxs Chicago, and a writer for Oy!Chicago.
StoryStudio Chicago, founded in 2003, offers more than 100 writing classes each year in fiction and all forms of creative nonfiction. Artistic Director Rebecca Makkai leads a core faculty, along with visiting authors like Alexander Chee and Garth Greenwell.
