LGBTQ+ Asian group to host May 21 anti-hate event

Asians & Friends Chicago (AFC)an LGBTQ social organization supporting the Asian community and those who have interests in Asian culturesis hosting a pre-Pride event to debut its "#asianlove" theme of anti-violence and anti-hate during Asian-American Pacific Islander (AAPI) month in Chicago.
The fundraiser will take place Saturday, May 21, 7-10 p.m., at The Holiday Club, 4000 N. Sheridan Rd. The runway show will start at 8:30 p.m.
The evening, dubbed "#asianlove: A Night of Glory," will feature costumes that AFC members will wear on their float in the Chicago Gay Pride Parade, which is resuming Sunday, June 26, after two years of cancellation due to COVID-related precautions.
