Homofrecuencia, the first Spanish-language radio show for and by LGBTQA individuals, will celebrate the third 'Noche de Arco Iris' ( 'Night of Rainbows' ) , a Latino-themed prom, at the National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th, on May 25, 7 p.m.-12 a.m.

'In schools with large immigrant and Latino populations there are no safe spaces for GLBTQ youth to be out,' Tania Unzueta, managing producer of Homofrecuencia and organizer of the event, said in a statement.

'Noche de Arco Iris' is an event designed primarily for Latino GLBTQ high-school and college-age youth, but is open to everyone. It will feature performances by entertainers from the Latino community; music; a prom king-and-queen contest; and food. Tickets are $15 for youth and $25-50 for adults.

Homofrecuencia airs 7-8 p.m. on Mondays on 90.5 FM WRTE Radio Arte Chicago, and at www.wrte.org .
