The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame, now entering its 30th year, announced earlier this year that it will resume inducting new members. After putting out a call to the community for nominations, it now has a slate of possible inductees.
A selection committee composed of individuals inducted into the LGBT Hall of Fame will review the slate of candidates and select them in a meeting on Saturday, March 21. Anybody inducted into the LGBT Hall of Fame as an individual is entitled to serve on the selection committee. Those interested in participating should email outreach@LGBTHallofFame.org by March 15.
The names of the inductees for 2020 will be released on or before Wed., March 25.
The ceremony for inductees will be held Tuesday, June 9, at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St. The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame was founded in 1991 as the Chicago Gay & Lesbian Hall of Fame. It is the first city-sponsored hall of fame dedicated to LGBT people, organizations and community in the United States. |
