Dear Chicago's Black LGBTA community,
When I asked the #SUGTHarmony team to take on Pride at Montrose ( Sunday, June 28 ) for 2015, I knew it would be no easy task. I knew there would be late nights, barriers and Iimited resources. What I also knew was that the deficits would be so much fewer than the benefits, such as an experience that would celebrate the culture and style of blackness and lift LGBT in a greater fashion.
I do not put my personal or professional brands behind situations that I don't truly believe or that I am unwilling to pull my sleeves up and totally live and breathe the project through its summation. This year, I am humbly asking that you come out and support the Pride at Montrose. I am asking you to put aside what you may have known and embrace the new. I know this is a big ask, and I wouldn't ask unless I knew that we could make history yet again.
We have gated the festival, doubled security, expanded the health village, installed two stages of entertainment and implemented Pride decor. We are passionate and have worked non stop since July 2014 to make this happen. Again, we implore you to stand with us and help us to #KeepPrideProud.
With pride and integrity,
Anthony Charles Galloway
