Dear community:
How is our community responding to the coronavirus pandemic? The key seems to be a social-distance approach that many of our medical and political leaders are counseling.
Our religious communities are putting the people first, canceling services and even closing down houses of worship.
Our bars and restaurants provide a living for many who work in the service arena. They need our support. Many of our restaurants and LGBTQ+ bars have closed. Our bar owners are responding responsibly a jobwell done! Many of these workers live paycheck to paycheck.
The Center on Halsted, like our churches, is putting people first. Perhaps the Center can be an important communication hub for all the homebound.
Remember to watch out for each other by using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Now is the time to remember that God is with us in our joys, and our sorrows. Remember always to be thankful for life. Finally, it is also time for prayer and turning to God. The days ahead may be full of uncertainty and hope. Focus on hope.
Do not give in to fear. We will get through this together. Always remember that hope is alive and well.
Sincerely,
Joe Murray
