Nov. 3, 2003 marked the end of an era for one of Chicago's most revered leather bars, The Cellblock. By 8 p.m. the bar was packed. The mood was festive because even though Roger Hickey (owner) is leaving, he will still be across the street at The North End, where he still maintains an interest.
The evening of friends and well-wishers shared stories and strolled down memory lane, sharing their own personal stories about Roger and his wonderful and loyal staff. There were plenty flowers, gifts, buffet and free drinks, guaranteed to loosen tongues and provoke some of the more risquÈ memories of the bar and its iconic owner.
Among the clubs represented: Onyx, Trident, Hellfire, and Chicago Leather Club. The "celebrity" goes on and on. Thanks for the memories, the support, and love and care you have showered onto the leather community over the years, thanks Roger, may god bless you and good luck in your future!
After taking over the publishing aspects this past summer, restructuring the look and feel of the publication, the staff of Instigator has managed to put out a magazine that has drawn an inordinate amount of praise and attention from diverse areas of the kink/fetish community. Even Mr. Marcus has heaped praise upon the magazine and its glossy look, timely editorials and take-no-prisoner editorials! Promoters, advertisers are encouraged to contact these boys. Give Thorn a call (626) 577 4926. Instigator has been working hard to increase its circulation, shooting for bi-monthly status. I had a quick chat with Thorn, the magazine's editor, and he informs me that they now have European distribution, Mr. Bís in Amsterdam! Good Luck guys!

Protect your past and future! The PPF fund wants you! Seems inevitable this merger was only a keystroke away. Introducing the PPF fund.
The Leather Archives & Museum collects, preserves and protects every bit of leather/fetish/kinkster memorabilia it can get its hands on. From posters, to programs to T-shirts, literature and beyond, The LA&M is desperately in need of funding at this time as they are expected to make a $200K balloon payment on their building next May.
The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom focuses on the rights of consenting adults in the SM-leather-fetish, swing, and polyamory communities, who often face bias because of their sexual expression.
PPF Fund benefits the Leather Archives & Museum and the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. A fundraiser is set for Jan. 31; visit ppffund.org .
