Kim Gordon at Music Box Feb. 26
The Chicago Humanities Festival ( CHF ) will present musician, artist and founding member of band Sonic Youth Kim Gordon on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave.
The post-punk rocker comes to Chicago to discuss her new memoir, Girl in a Band, with CHF Program Director and former WBEZ host Alison Cuddy. The program will include an opening performance by Girls Rock! Chicago alum Alex Lund, with a book-signing following the discussion.

MCA hosting trans* forum on Feb. 18
The Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave., is hosting "Zackary Drucker, The Skew" Wed., Feb. 18, at 6 p.m.
Drucker, an artist, presents a program that combines performance with discussion to explore issues of transgender representation and gender equality. Playing with the idea and structure of the diversity talk, Drucker will present a panel discussion that closely follows the format of women centered talk shows such as the View.
The panel of transgender women includes Precious Davis, community activist and assistant director of diversity recruitment initiatives at Columbia College; Jen Richards, co-director of The Trans 100 and creator of We Happy Trans; Angelica Ross, executive director and CEO of TransTech Social Enterprises; and actor Van Barnes.

Gallery hosting 'Women, Work, and Gender Roles'
Woman Made Gallery ( WMG ), 685 N. Milwaukee Ave., is hosting the exhibition "Women, Work, and Gender Roles," a historically rooted project that highlights the link between the economy and the shape of ideal gender roles and explores how these roles have influenced the experiences of women at work.
The project combines the expertise of photographer and painter Diana Vallera ( Columbia College, photography instructor ) and sociologist and lawyer, Jacqueline Battalora ( Saint Xavier University, Professor of Sociology ).
This exhibition ( which runs through Feb. 26 ) is free and open to the public.

Driehaus jewelry tour starts Feb. 14
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, 40 E. Erie St., will present the major exhibition "Maker & Muse: Women and Early Twentieth Century Art Jewelry," opening Saturday, Feb. 14.
The exhibition features more than 250 pieces of art jewelry created between the late Victorian period and World War I. "Maker & Muse" is composed of works drawn from the Collection of Richard H. Driehaus and prominent private and public collections throughout the United States.
It will run through Jan. 3, 2016.
Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission ranges from free ( for Driehaus members, and children 5 and under ) to $20; visit DriehausMuseum.org .
DIFFA/Chicago hosting
dance on March 6
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS/Chicago ( DIFFA/Chicago ) auxiliary board will host its third annual DIFFArence event on Friday, March 6, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at The Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.
There will be a specially designed "prom" theme. "Dance for A DIFFArence" will feature live entertainment from DJ Versage, a specially designed balloon arc photo booth and the official announcement of the evening's prom king and queen.
