Keyes Offends Gays—Again

BY ANDREW DAVIS

The board of the Log Cabin Republicans Chicago chapter is appalled by statements made by Illinois U.S. Senate Candidate Alan Keyes. Speaking at an anti-gay marriage rally in Chicago's Marquette Park on Oct 16, Keyes said that incest is 'inevitable' for the children of gay and lesbian parents.

This message is the latest in a series of comments that has outraged the group, including when Keyes called homosexuals 'selfish hedonists.' The Log Cabins consider Keyes' comments to be 'outrageous, unfounded and very painful to Illinois gays and lesbians, especially those with children.' The rally in Marquette Park was part of a statewide 'United We Stand—Defending Marriage' bus tour.

'Alan Keyes should apologize for his statement immediately. ... Voters from the state of Lincoln and Reagan deserve a better candidate than someone from another state who uses his campaign as a platform to insult Illinois residents,' the Log Cabin statement reads.

Meanwhile, Keyes is ignoring calls of hypocricy, as his own daughter is out on the Web as a lesbian (and also campaigning for Dad).

The Web is buzzing with rumors that 19-year-old daughter Maya is a lesbian. Her own blog (now offline to the public) showed her kissing another girl.

John Aravosis, on his Web site at Americablog.blogspot.com, and the Web site outletradio.com both reported the info.

On her blog, Xmisled0youthX, Maya is pictured making out with another girl and openly writes about being a lesbian, said outletradio. 'Xmisled0youthX is also known as Dangerousanjul, whose Yahoo profile also describes her as a 19-year-old named Maya. On the KeyesForSenate2004 Yahoo Group, Dangerousanjul identifies herself as Maya Keyes, and many people on the group confirm Dangerousanjul is the daughter of Dr. Alan Keyes,' outletradio.com said.
