The team beat the Ottawa Senators 5-1 at the United Center, as co-captain Patrick Kane took sole possession of third in all-time franchise goals (408) and moved into third in all-time points (1,097) with a hat trick on the night. Only Bobby Hull (604) and Stan Mikita (541) have found the net more in franchise history.
Brandon Hagel also scored a pair of goals in the win and Marc-Andre Fleury made 30 stops in his first victory as a Blackhawk and 493rd of all-time.
The Blackhawks host the Hurricanes on Wed., Nov. 3, in the second and final meeting of the season against Carolina.
