Congregation Or Chadash will present a free seven session course, "Hidur Keshet: Strengthening the Rainbow-Judaism with a Queer Perspective," beginning March 20th, at 5959 N. Sheridan Rd., from 7-9 p.m and runs through May 8th ( excluding the week of Passover ).
Exploring questions such as "What does it mean to be a Queer Jew?" and "How can we make traditions our own?" this course will create an affirming space for students to discover, celebrate, and intertwine Queer and Jewish identities. It is open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation, interested in exploring the topic of Queer Jewish thought and practice.
Course topics will cover "Tweeting with God," "Finding Ourselves Within the Talmud" and "Cultivating a Queer Jewish Home." Instructors include Rabbi Cindy Enger; Rabbi Benay Lappe; Rabbi Lizzi Heydemann, and Rabbi Shoshanah Conover and others.

This program is done in Community Partnership with Chicago Repair House, Gesher Chicago, JCC Presentence Chicago, JCC Sidney N. Shure Kehilla, Mishkan Chicago, Mitziut, SVARA, and Temple Sholom of Chicago.
