Lesbian tennis icon Martina Navratilova says she will play at Wimbledon despite her last-minute withdrawal from a warmup tournament. Navratilova, 49, a nine-time singles champion at Wimbledon, plans to play doubles and mixed doubles at the Grand Slam tournament, which commences June 26, according to AP News. She had planned to play doubles at the DFS Classic grass-court tournament but pulled out because of swelling in her right knee.
In 2003, the Czech-born American became the oldest Grand Slam champion at age 46, winning the Wimbledon mixed doubles title with Indian Leander Paes.
