The Human Rights Campaign ( HRC ) Foundation released the 2017 Corporate Equality Index, an annual report assessing LGBT inclusion in major companies and law firms across the nation, including 72 in Illinois.
In total, 887 companies were officially rated in the new CEI, up from 851 in last year's. The average score for companies and law firms based in Illinois is 83 percent. Of the 72 companies ranked, 44 earned 100 percent, 51 earned 90 percent and above, and 54 earned 80 percent and above.
Those earning perfect scores of 100 include Leo Burnett Company Inc., Starcom, Boeing Co., United Airlines, Discover Financial Services, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Northern Trust Corp., A.T. Kearney Inc., Aon Corp., Grant Thornton LLP, Huron Consulting Group Inc., Navigant Consulting Inc., Exelon Corp., Barilla America Inc., McDonald's Corp., MillerCoors LLC and Baxter International Inc.
Others with perfect scores include HERE North America LLC, Hyatt Hotels Corp., CNA Insurance, Health Care Service Corp., State Farm Group, Groupon Inc., Baker & McKenzie LLP, Chapman and Cutler LLP, Faegre Baker Daniels, Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Jenner & Block LLP, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Mayer Brown LLP, McDermott Will & Emery LLP, Schiff Hardin LLP, Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Sidley Austin LLP, Winston & Strawn LLP, W.W. Grainger Inc., AbbVie Cinc., Astellas Pharma US Inc., Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., JLL, Crate and Barrel/CB2, Sears Holdings Corp. and Walgreen Co.
On the other end, four companies scored zero: LKQ Corp., Ingredion Inc., Old Republic International and Packaging Corporation of America.
