Circuit Court of Cook County judicial candidates Jill Rose Quinn and Michael Weaver are among the 25 openly LGBTQ individuals who the LGBTQ Victory Fund endorsed in its latest round of supported candidates for political races in 2019 and 2020.
Quinn is vying for a judicial post in the 10th Judicial Subcircuit, while Weaver is in a race in 9th Judicial Subcircuit. Quinn, an attorney who happens to be transgender, last ran in 2018, for the Suriano vacancy. Weaver is a partner at the law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
The Illinois primary elections will take place March 17, 2020, with the general elections on Nov. 3, 2020.
Some of the other candidates included in the most recent Victory Fund endorsements are incumbents Toni Atkins ( California State Senate, District 39 ), Malcolm Kenyatta ( Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 181 ), Kathleen James ( Vermont House of Representatives, Bennington 4 ) and Andres Cano ( Arizona House of Representatives, District 3 ); as well as non-incumbents such as Liz Breadon ( Boston City Council, District 9 ) and Hunter Cain ( Clark County, Nevada, Commissioner, District C ).
