The Independent Press Association of Chicago ( IPA-Chicago ) held a news conference to announce the release of Vital Sources: A Guide to Chicago's Ethnic, Community and Independent Press. The event took place Nov. 2 at The Chicago Tribune, 435 N. Michigan.
Vital Sources is a new press guide that provides detailed information on more than 200 publications in Chicago that serve hard-to-reach communities. Among the data listed are languages; community served; publication frequency and date; circulation; number of paid subscribers; and reach ( geographic distribution ) . Publications range alphabetically from the ABA Journal to Yoga Chicago and culturally from racial to LGBT groups. ( Windy City Times, Nightspots and Identity are all listed separately. )
