The Gender and Sexuality Center and the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change at UIC is a sponsor of an exhibit at the Jane Addams Hull House Museum: "I Define Myself: Undocumented and Unafraid."
The exhibit will be located at Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, 800 S. Halsted St. through July then the portraits will spread across the UIC campus.
About
The Jane Addams Hull-House Museum serves as a dynamic memorial to social reformer Jane Addams, the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, and her colleagues whose work changed the lives of their immigrant neighbors as well as national and international public policy. The Museum and its many vibrant programs make connections between the work of Hull-House residents and important contemporary social issues.
The Museum has collaborated with the national Coming Out of the Shadows campaign to create an "Inside Out" inspired group action exhibit. The resulting action known as "I Define Myself: Undocumented and Unafraid" is a courageous public declaration of visibility, identity and community.
