The Reverend Stan Sloan, CEO of Chicago House and Social Service Agency, was presented the 2006 Human Relations Award from The City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations ( CCHR ) at the 60th Annual Luncheon, held Oct. 31 at The Chicago Hilton and Towers, 720 S. Michigan.
Sloan was selected for his work with the HIV/AIDS and LGBT communities at Chicago House; in the field of homeless services where he serves as the president of the Partnership to End Homelessness; and for his work as a volunteer chaplain at St. Gregory's Episcopal School.
The awards recognize the achievement of individuals, organizations and institutions that have improved intergroup understanding and cooperation in Chicago. In an effort to heighten awareness of human rights, CCHR annually recognizes individuals or groups for championing civil rights.
Mark Suppelsa, a FOX News Chicago anchor, was master of ceremonies.
