The survey, which will be available both online at Howard Brown Health website as well as in paper formats at various community events, assesses both healthcare priorities for women and factors that may or may not determine whether they access primary care and other services from facilities such as Howard Brown Health, said Amy Miller, the organization's manager of women's health services. Respondents will also be able to respond via a Twitter hashtag.

"We're hoping to get women from all over Chicago to answer the survey," said Miller. "That includes non-binary women who identify as femme as well. We want to get a sense of where women in Chicago are seeking health care, if not at Howard Brown, and what Howard Brown can do to increase our capacity to serve women, and either improve or add to our programing. We also want to see what health needs are for women in Chicago, so we can step in and provide or expand our services."

The organization will also conduct town hall meetings for the survey, which is being conducted by the Chicago-based Morten Group consultancy.

The firm "has considerable experience in the data research and community engagement field, having completed the LGBT Community Needs Assessment for The Chicago Community Trust as well as several large scale national assessments," said Morten Group President Mary Morten.

Morten added, "I really want to encourage people to participate, because this is how you get services that matter, and meet your health care needs and interests."
