CHICAGO, IL - May 9, 2013 - Homos A-Go-Go is Laugh Factory Chicago's new premier queer comedy showcase, featuring the best gay and gay-friendly comics in the city and around the world. Produced and hosted by the Chicago's favorite actor and comedian Scott Duff, the monthly comedy extravaganza will kick off with the hilarious Jessica Halem featuring May 27th at 8pm!
Jessica is what happens when you mix a hippie Midwest upbringing with a Sarah Lawrence education. She produced The Hysterical Women, an all lesbian stand-up comedy troupe, for many years. Jessica honed her craft on the road at Pride festivals and colleges all across the country. She was nominated as "Best Female Comic" at the 2008 Chicago Comedy Awards and deemed one of the "Queers that Make Our City Great" by Time Out Chicago. Jessica has shared the stage with the likes of the Indigo Girls, Kate Clinton, Margaret Cho, Jill Scott, Justin V. Bond, Dirty Martini, and Julie Atlas Muz. As a nationally touring comic, Jessica Halem brings brains and bawdiness to her racy, politically charged stage act and the result is little like a horny Gloria Steinem on nitrous oxide. Join Jessica and all her friends as they make Homos A-Go-Go the must-see show of Spring!
