he 76th Academy Awards, better known as the gay Super Bowl ( or is that Superb Owl... ) gave us all a reason to be glamorous again. If for only one night. At that one night was last Sunday as Circuit played host to Center on Halsted's Oscar-stravaganza. The folks from QTV were on hand to film the goings-on. And what timing! Amid the pulsating crowd was no other than TV's Cheryl Ladd. For those of you who have wondered 'what ever happened to,' here's the lowdown: Cheryl is taking it easy, hawking a few fine adult products on late-nite infomercials and moonlighting as a drag queen named Paula Sinclaire.
Meanwhile, Sidetrack, along with the good people over at Chicago Gay Men's Chorus had a bash of their own. I promised to make a superstar out of the guy working the door. So I hope my humble efforts will bring forth fruit. Or bring a fruit forth. Anywho... .
The next night, still brimming with glamour, I stopped into The Baton to catch Stella's Heart Of America Continental benefit. The entertainment was cute, but what I mostly remember is the chocolate brownie/chocolate Martini combo I hooked up. I was so high on the sweet stuff, even Stella looked pretty. Oh, calm down bitch, you know I'm only kidding. There's not enough chocolate in the world.
But seriously folks, Stella's a hard-working-ass-bitch. Anyone can tell it's much more than a hobby; it's a job. And she does it divinely. You might even say she's 'hot to go.'
Oh yeah... St. Pat's blah, blah, blah. Check out the cover. That'll get your Irish up!
