God must have a sense of humor because last week's Rodeo has to have been the muddiest weekend of my life. I still have to get the boots cleaned. But, had it not been for the copious amounts of mud, I never would have gotten the gorgeous, filthy cowboy shot for the cover. And, also, one of the charter buses would never have sank into the ground, but that's a 'you had to be there' moment. Good times.
Thanks to all who turned up to Bucks for the celebrity pie toss, brought to you by the good folks of the Windy City Empire. After I dropped and undisclosed amount on the opportunity to get Patrick but good, he returned the favor, ganging up with Steve Nokes to quadruple my amount for the pleasure of turning me into a creamsicle. As they approaced, I heard them discussing which one would 'go south' and I knew I was done for. There's no dessert topping I won't take down my pants for charity. At the end of the day, they'd raised just about $1,000 for Empire charity partners Broadway Youth Center, the American Lung Association and the Sierra Montana Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Wednesdays at The Victor Hotel are back. New DJs and hosts and all, but look for the same swanky goodness weekly. But don't wear flip-flops ( or so I hear ) .
And speaking of Flip Flop, Flip Flop at Sidetrack was a smashing success, raising much-needed funds for About Face Theater. The night of never-ending gender-bending was a hoot and helped a great cause.
And a quick note to that sultry senator I blew in the McDonald's bathroom last Monday afternoon: Your secret is safe with me. And to keep it safe, I will require $5,000. Once again, all for charity.
