Something's blowing in the wind. And I'm not referring to a drafty night in the back room of The Eagle. No, my friend, it's change that's a-blowin'. Certainly enough to keep a certain editor on his toes.
First and foremost, please notice the lovely and talented ( said quite literally ) Jeremy and Ben on the cover. Catch them and much more, including four, count 'em, four Mr. Continentals at the grand opening of 3160 ( formerly Annex 3 ) Monday, January 23. Better get your best dress out of mothballs for this one!
The Cal City scene is also going through a little face lift moment. The Patch will very soon reemerge from its chrysalis as a butterfly named DiChano's. Good news for the vaginatarians down south, I'm sure.
John L's is still going strong, featuring all the drag and drama from the old Pour House, just down the street. You should have seen the insanity at karaoke night at this place. You haven't lived until you've seen a bull dyke verbally crucifying a drunk white boy for coming up to her with his junk out. Worth the drive.
The least changed is Dick's RU Crazee. Same ol' goodness. Pleasure meeting Ron, who swears he comes for me every Wednesday. I thought I felt a slight rumbling...
Finally, ILGRA will hold its 2005 Rodeo Awards and Charity Check Presentation Ceremony in the upstairs party room of Tuscany on Clark, 3700 N. Clark, on Sunday, January 22 at 6 pm. Close to $16,000 will be distributed among four charity partners: Howard Brown, Vital Bridges, DirectAID, and Cowboy Dreams.
