Haymarket Center to honor state Rep. Greg Harris at gala

Retiring Illinois state Rep. (and Majority Leader) Greg Harris, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, will be one of the honorees at the Haymarket Center Gala.
The event will take place Saturday, April 9, at the Chicago Bulls Advocate Training Center, 15 S. Wood St. The reception will start at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner/program beginning at 7 p.m.
Harris will receive the Father Mac Appreciation Award. Portillo's founders Dick and Sharon Portillo will receive the Father Mac Humanitarian Award; Edward-Elmhurst Health Chief Physician Executive Dr. Daniel Sullivan has been designated Volunteer of the Year; and Rush University will receive the Visionary Award.
Actor Rob Lowe will be the celebrity guest speaker, while CBS 2 Chicago co-anchor Irika Sargent will emcee the event.
