The Chicago Commission on Human Relations' Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues is accepting nominations for the 2006 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes the professional and voluntary achievements of GLBT individuals as well as their community and civic contributions.
Former recipients of the award select the newest inductees into the Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is usually held in October, in conjunction with Lesbian and Gay History Month.
The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is privately funded through generous donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Staff is provided by the Chicago Commission on Human Relations; members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues; and
volunteers. The deadline for submissions is July 15.
