The Chicago Commission on Human Relations Advisory Council on LGBT Issues was joined by Mayor Richard Daley at the 2007 induction of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame, which occurred Oct. 18 at the Chicago Cultural Center.
Among those inducted were Dr. Carlos T. Mock, 51, physician, author, and advocate; Vera Washington, 55, promoter, HIV/AIDS counselor, youth service coordinator and co-founder of Executive Sweet Inc.; A Real Read ( above ) , an African-American LGBT performance ensemble; former ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, 60; and Harold Washington ( 1922–1987 ) , former mayor of Chicago.
