'Hairspray' gets 13 Tony Nominations

Hairspray, the new musical based on John Waters' hit film, was nominated for 13 Tony Awards last week. The ceremony is June 8 on CBS.

They are up for categories including best musical, best original score and best costumes.

Twyla Tharp's Movin' Out received 10 nominations. Long Day's Journey Into Night received seven nominations.

Gay faves Bernadette Peters (Gypsy) and Antonio Banderas (Nine, the Musical), along with openly gay Harvey Fierstein (for Hairspray), were nominated.

Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out, about a gay baseball player, was nominated for best new play
