The 2005 Human Rights Campaign ( HRC ) Dinner Gala Committee has announced a roster of honorees for the event July 9 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker.
The dinner is organized around the theme 'Now More Than Ever' and marks the celebration of organization's 25th anniversary.
This year's Equality Awards will be presented to, among others, legislators who were instrumental in the passage the state gay-rights bill. Honorees include Lakeview Action Coalition; Accenture; Illinois State Senate President Emil Jones, Jr, D-Chicago; Illinois State Sen. Carol Ronen, D-Chicago; and Illinois State Rep.Larry McKeon, D-Chicago.
The program will also include remarks from HRC's new president, Joe Solmonese, as well as from Scott Lowell, who plays Ted on Showtime's Queer As Folk.
