The campaign of Judge Deborah Jean Gubin for Circuit Court of Cook County held a fundraiser Jan. 11 at the Boystown nightspot Sidetrack.
Gubin is running for the 8th Judicial Subcircuit Durkin-Roy vacancy. Gubin has more than 35 years of professional service as a lawyer, performing civil and criminal litigation.
"When we choose a judge, those are very big decisions," said state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz. "What I look for in a judge is the depth of their character. I have known Deb to be a really solid human being."
Gubin is campaigning on the values of "experience, honesty and integrity."
"I will work hard and continue to work hard, because working hard is all I know how to do," Gubin told Windy City Times. "I love being a judge."
Gubin has been endorsed by the Democratic Party of the 8th Judicial Subcircuit, Chicago Federation of Labor and state Senate President John Cullerton, among others.
Voting in the primary elections will be held Tuesday, March 20.
