Chris Colfer, 20, who plays openly gay student Kurt on the TV show Glee, has been named one of TIME Magazine's most 100 influential people in the world for 2011.
Co-star Dianna Agron (who plays Quinn on the show) says that Colfer "lives by extreme truth, speaking out against the epidemic of bullying that he, too, faced in high school. The honesty that he infuses into his Glee character, Kurt, leaves you reeling."
Out gay fashion designer/film director Tom Ford also made the list. Actress Rita Wilson wrote of Ford, "[T]his sexy guy is kind and deeply loyal. ... Tom has manners that are rare these days."
Others on the list include talk-show titan/media mogul Oprah Winfrey, singer/author Patti Smith, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, actress Amy Poehler, actor Colin Firth, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, singer Justin Bieber, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, actor Mark Wahlberg and Prince William and Kate Middleton.
