Jason Collins—a former NBA player who became, in 2014, the first openly gay player to play in the league—said that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus, USA Today noted.

"I believe I got it while on a trip to NYC at the beginning of the month for the Brooklyn Nets Pride night game," Collins posted on Twitter. "I had my first symptoms on Wed Mar 11. Terrible headache. A few days later I had a fever and then the cough."

Collins' twin brother, Jarron, is an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors.

At least 10 active players in the NBA have tested positive for the virus.

Windy City Times noted that, in February, Jason participated in a conversation with LGBTQ youth and allies from the Center on Halsted..
