The LGBTQQ organization Orgullo en Accion, in a statement, has identified two primary events as part of its 2007 agenda.
The first will be the Latino/a LGBTQQ Pride 2007, which will take place in June. Last year's event attracted over 100 LGBTQQ participants and featured wide-ranging performances by drag kings and queens, dancers, poes, and musicians.
The second event will be the LGBTQQ Leadership Summit, which will take place in October. On March 11, 2006, Orgullo en Accíon attracted national speakers for its first annual summit, including Pedro Julio Serrano, president of Puerto Para Tod@s; Evette Cardona, co-founder of Amigas Latinas; and Julio Rodriguez, co-founder of Association of Latino Men for Action ( ALMA ) .
To volunteer at either event, contact Ed Negron, Pride Committee Coordinator, at ednpride@hotmail.com .
