Kevin Logan, a gay Gary, Ind., high school student who has worn women's clothes to school all year, was not allowed into his prom because he wore a dress, the Associated Press reported.
Logan, 18, went to the West Side High School prom on May 19, sporting a gown and high-heeled shoes. However, officials turned him away. The student received his $85 back but is contemplating filing a complaint with the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana.
Reaction overall has been mixed, although several gay- and gender-rights groups have issued releases supporting Logan. According to the Post Tribune, individuals from as far away as California have written or called to either support the school's action or Logan's 'right to be himself.'
