Oak Brook, Ill.-based AthletiCo has announced its partnership with Chicago Games, Inc., joining as the 'Official Provider of Rehabilitation, Fitness, and Performance' for the Gay Games VII Sports & Cultural Festival, scheduled for July 15-22 in Chicago.

As part of the relationship with Gay Games Chicago, AthletiCo will be recognized as a Global Bronze Sponsor and will receive visibility throughout the area at sports, culture and ceremony venues.

In exchange, AthletiCo will be providing athletic training coverage for the flag football, ice hockey, basketball, rugby, soccer and softball events.

AthletiCo is a provider of outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation and has over 30 locations throughout Chicagoland.

To learn more about the company, visit www.athletico.com or call the new toll-free injury hotline at 877-ATHLETICO.

Gay Games Will Open with Greek Flair:

Matt Alber to Sing

It's all Greek to singer Matt Alber, who will open the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago by performing 'Beotia,' an original song that celebrates the love of ancient Greece's Sacred Band of Thebes. ( According to Greek historian Plutarch, the Sacred Band of Thebes was an army of 150 pairs of gay lovers, or a total of 300 men. )

The song is from Nonchalant, the forthcoming debut album by Alber, an out gay singer and former member of the multi-Grammy winning choral ensemble Chanticleer.

More than 60 performers from music, television, film, sports and the arts will perform in the Games' opening and closing ceremonies, which will respectively take place July 15 at Soldier Field and July 22 at Wrigley Field.

Tickets start at $50 and are on sale at Tickets.GayGamesChicago.org . Registration for the Games is open until June 15; go to www.gaygames.org . Hear 'Beotia' and three other songs from Nonchalant at www.myspace.com/mattalber.

'Eye on the Champions' Is Final Gay Games VII Kick-Off Event

Photographs by Victor Skrebneski and Steve Becker will be featured in a one-day event in the Garland and Washington rooms of the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington, as the final kick-off event for Chicago's Gay Games. Gay Games VII Sports & Cultural Festival gets rolling on July 15 with a spectacular opening ceremony at Soldier Field and will end July 22 at Wrigley Field with the closing extravaganza.

The 'Eye on the Champions' photo show will take place June 14, 5-8 p.m., and is free to the public.

There will also be postcards and posters available for purchase as well as a silent auction of Gay Games memorabilia.

Framing is provided by Artists' Frame Service, with catering provided by The Hearty Boys.

The exhibit will include photos taken at the recent 100 Champions weekend Gay Games benefit, with some of the subjects being individuals such as Greg Louganis, Mary Carillo, Matthew Cusick, Esera Tuaolo, Leigh-Ann Naidoo, Dave Kopay, Alexandra Billings, Aldo Castillo and Michael Leppen.
