On Feb. 14—in commemoration of Valentine's Day—The Chicago Therapy Collective presented the final exhibition of its series "Trans Art Is."

The show, titled "Trans Art Is: Love and Liberation," shone a spotlight on intimacy, sexuality and liberation while showcasing photography, sculpture, painting and clothing designed and created by transgender and gender non-conforming ( T/GNC ) artists. The show also featured live music, poetry and spoken-word performance as well as an open market with snacks and libations, and participation from Early To Bed. The event took place at the Andersonville Galleria, 5247 N. Clark St.

Artists featured in the show included Evan Fusco, Leo Williams, Bun Stout, Pascale Jarvis, Jean Sonderand, Malachi Lily and Alloiza Mari, among others. Musical performances included a solo electric performance by Asha Adera and a rap performance courtesy of CJ Run.

The show was the final installment of a six-month series of art exhibitions, with all funds going toward funding the next generation of Trans Art Is exhibits, local trans employment initiatives, and education and outreach support for businesses and organizations striving to be more inclusive.

The collective is a grassroots non-profit organization composed of trans and gender non-conforming members, trans-affirming healers, therapists, and loved ones who seek to create more safe and inclusive communities for T/GNC community members.

The show is slated to run until March 31, with the current series finale set for a show celebrating Trans Day of Visibility at The Chicago Magic Lounge. For more information, visit the Chicago Therapy Collective's website at ChicagoTherapyCollective.org .
