NEW EPISODES ON OXYGEN
Oxygen, Fridays at 8 p.m.
When Oxygen
announced an all-new season of AB FAB last week, it was a little confusing at first. With all of the cable
channels that have aired AB FAB in its many on-and-off seasons, from Comedy Central to BBC America, I
wasn't sure if this was a truly new season or a season that was just, as TV programmers tend to say, 'New to
Oxygen.'
But indeed, this is a new never-before seen season. Upcoming guests include Kristin Scott
Thomas, Minnie Driver and Elton John. In last week's premiere, Edina convinced Patsy to become a celebrity
stylist, and Edina's daughter, Saffy, returned from a long stint as an aide worker in Iraq, pregnant with the
possibility of an interracial grandchild—which Edina believes would be the epitome of chic, 'the Chanel of
babies.'
E! TRUE ELLEN Sunday, Jan. 11 (7 and 10 p.m.) In a new special, Ellen gets the full 2-hour
treatment. Her success as a stand-up comic, including her first time on The Tonight Show. Her foray into TV
with the sitcom These Friends of Mine, which morphed into Ellen. The impact coming out had on her career.
Her stint as host of the 2001 Emmy Awards. Her new day-time talk show. I'll be watching for Anne Heche
chapter!
THE L WORD DEFINED: Showtime continues to offer a brief preview of its new lesbian series The
L Word all week.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 7
IT'S ALL RELATIVE (ABC, 7:30 p.m.) New: Bobby is
furious to learn that Liz has discussed their sex life with her two gay dads. While Bobby's father Mace and gay
Philip are pleased that the relationship could be in trouble, gay Simon and Bobby's mother Audrey conspire to
keep the couple together.
JOHN GOODMAN RETURNS TO THE WEST WING (NBC, 8 p.m.) Lily Tomlin
continues to appear sporadically. But for me, John Goodman's appearances in last year's season finale and
this year's premiere were the greatest moments in the series yet, really awakening it from its doldrums.
BLONDIE'S BACK: LIVE IN NYC (WE: Women's Entertainment, 9 p.m.) Every Wednesday in January, WE
highlights women in rock. Tonight, Blondie performs in a concert taped in New York City: 'Heart of Glass,'
'Rapture,' 'One Way or Another' and 'Call Me.'
SOUTH PARK (9 p.m., 11 p.m.) Repeat: 'South Park Is Gay'
Repeats begin of the recent all-new Season 6 episodes.
THURSDAY, JAN. 8
THE
APPRENTICE (NBC, 7:30 p.m.) No WILL & GRACE tonight, but instead the new reality series I'm most looking
forward to: a competition to become Donald Trump's apprentice.
NATHAN LANE ON LETTERMAN (CBS,
10:35 p.m.)
MADONNA (REPEAT) ON JAY LENO (NBC, 10:35 p.m.)
FRIDAY, JAN. 9
