The Human Agenda: Conversations about Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity: In this very revealing book, writer/activist Joe Wenke interviews a variety of LGBT people about the title subjects, including author Andrew Solomon; comedian Ian Harvie; hip-hop artist Y-Love; Rabbi Amy Bernstein; author and San Francisco Sheriff's Department Captain Kevin Fisher-Paulson; and performer Carmen Carrera, among others.
Food Should Taste Good chips: I couldn't agree more with the brand nameand, fortunately, these items DO taste good. The chips are made with real ingredients, zero trans fats and no cholesterol. I'm practically in love with the cheddar tortilla chips; they contain brown rice, flax, sesame and sunflower seeds and quinoaand they taste so ... well, you know.
Game of Thrones: Season Four ( out on DVD ): This sprawling HBO epic ( with a sprawling cast ) expertly continues to weave together various plots as storylines play out to some rather bloody conclusions. ( The tag line for this season is "All Men Must Die," by the way. ) Stannis Baratheon continues to rebuild his army on Dragonstone, while a more immediate danger comes from the south, as Oberyn Martell arrives at King's Landing to attend Joffrey's wedding. ( Ah, Joffrey... ) And then there are Jon Snow, Daenerys "Mother of Dragons" Targaryen, The Hound, The Mountain and a host of other compelling characters.
L.A. Frock Stars, season two: Calling all fashionistas! Premiering Thursday, March 19, on the Smithsonian Channel, this show follows vintage-clothing expert Doris Raymond and her staff at the shop The Way We Wore. Burlesque artist Dita von Teese, actresses Debi Mazar and Kirsten Vangsness ( the latter on TV's Criminal Minds ), designer Jeremy Scott and various stylists are just some of the people who stop by the shop. Thankfully, the six-episode series features a maximum of glamour with a minimum of conflict.
Kent Katich and Matt Giordano Yoga DVD series ( www.gaiam.com/ ): Whether you're a newbie for practically a yogi, this series has something to offer everyone. Among the titles are Hot Yoga for Beginners ( with Giordano ), Eddie George: Yoga for Strength ( with Katich ), Yoga for Runners ( with Giordano ) and Kevin Love: Yoga for Flexibility ( with Katich ).
