Welcome to the first of many columns For Your Identity, the cultural resource each month for the who's who and what's what in Chicago and sometimes the country. Here we will have featured flavors of the month to increase awareness of various organizations and ethnicities in our community. This is more than a calendar listing of parties and events. We will feature profiles of some of Chicago's most hidden treasures while giving you gossip of the new plays, hot spots and trend setters in the cultural community world.
In understanding and approaching a new year we must begin to look at how much we balance ourselves in work, social, spiritual and cultural activities. Then we should look at how much of those four facets are spent outside the comfort zones that we sometimes barricade ourselves into, versus experimenting and trying new restaurants, new activities in other communities and/or other genders and socializing or worshipping with other ethnicities.
With unemployment at an all-time high, media images of threatened life security and the daily task of just getting by, this section gives you an escape into the good things, the good life and what we need to reduce anxiety and the importance of balance to increase quality of life.
Welcome to the first edition of Identity and this section Feeds You Information for social, cultural and spiritual satisfaction For Your Identity.
