Rising to fame during season 10 of the CBS reality show Big Brother, Steven Daigle keeps people watching over his shoulder as he tackles the world of porn.
Nightspots Magazine: Where are you filming today?
Steven Daigle: Cocksuremen.com . It's a Web site and I'm doing my first webisode today.
NM: I actually saw you at Spin. I ran in really quick and took pictures for the magazine and saw you guys performing. How did that all go?
SD: It was fun! The crowd wasn't quite what I expected.
NM: Do you come to Chicago very often?
SD: I do not; that was actually the second time I've ever been to Chicago. The first time, I was like, 10 years old or something.
NM: How was your whole experience with the Grabbys?
SD: It was very very interesting. I definitely had a good time. Wasn't exactly sure what to expect... no, I take that back. I had an idea it was probably going to be a drama-filled weekend. It seems there's a lot of drama that swirls around porn and porn stars, directors and everybody. So, I kind of knew it was going to happen, and I have to honestly say I contributed to some of that myself. It was so amazing to see so many people from the porn industry in one place. I'm so new to the industry and to see people behind the scenes was really neat.
NM: How did you get involved with Big Brother? Did you audition for it?
SD: Yeah, I had to do the audition process just like everyone else. But I did have a little bit of a leg up becuase, at the time, I was really ingrained in the gay rodeo. Some of the Big Brother people had sent out an email to rodeo associations asking, "Do you know anybody who actively participates in gay rodeos that you think might be interested in doing something like Big Brother?"
NM: What was it like working with Chi Chi? Did she approach you?
SD: She's a huge Big Brother fan and we met at the Big Brother wrap party. I was just in awe that I was standing in Chi Chi LaRue's presence. I stood there and said, "I can't believe I'm talking to you, I'm such a fan," and Chi Chi said, "Well I'm a big fan of yours." So we instantly became friends.
NM: How was the whole porn thing? I know it's on your blog, but for those who haven't read that…
SD: It's hard to come up with new and interesting ways to answer that question because I get asked that a lot. I would sayand I don't necessarily mean it in a negative waybut it ruined porn for me forever. It completely took the mystery out of it for me. I went into it thinking, "I'm going to get to have sex with these incredibly gorgeous men," and then after your first day of shooting, you're like, ewww. It was nothing like what I expected.
NM: I'm actually reviewing Jersey Score for Jet Set Men right now. They could do a whole Big Brother parody.
SD: Well, you know what's funny? With Chi Chi the whole idea behind the first movie I was going to make for her was based that I'm Steven Daigle and I'm from Big Brother. We kept going back and forth on all of these ideas; she actually let me have a small part in the creative aspect of the movie, but ultimately it was all her idea. They wanted to do a whole spoof but in the end, they completely decided against it. It really causes a lot of legal issues.
NM: Well, keep us posted when you come back to Chicago.
SD: Oh I'd love to come back. I had a blast there.
