Fundraiser for Ferron Jan. 25
A fundraiser for the lesbian folk artist Ferron will take place Saturday, June 25, at Parlour on Clark, 6341 N. Clark St., at 9 p.m.
Among the acts slated to perform are Laura Doherty, Lnk, Jenny Urban, Andrew Sa & Dylan Wright, Vanessa Vincent and Florence Nightinjail.
Ferron indicated recently on Facebook that she is in dire financial trouble, and has been so since last April.

'Easy Abby' launches IndieGogo campaign
The producing team behind the award-winning lesbian Web series Easy Abby has launched an IndieGogo campaign to fund Easy Abby the show's second season.
"We are intending to raise close to $100K for the second season of Easy Abby and we are extending our seven-minute web episodes to 22-minute episodes," said writer/director Wendy Jo Carlton ( Hannah Free, Jamie & Jessie Are Not Together ) and actor/producer Lisa Cordileone ( Abby ) in a statement. The campaign ends Feb. 9.
The show has won several honors, including an Audience Award for Best Women's Feature and a Golden Kitty Award for Best Lesbian Web Series, and was an Editor's Pick by the Web Series Channel.

WCT seeks nominations for 30 Under 30 Awards
CHICAGOWindy City Times is seeking to recognize 30 more outstanding LGBT individuals ( and allies ) for its annual 30 Under 30 Awards.
Nominees should be 30 years or under as of June 30, and should have made some substantial contributions to the LGBT community.
Individuals, organizations, co-workers, etc. can nominate by emailing Andrew@WindyCityMediaGroup.com . The nomination should be 100 words or fewer, and should include the nominee's age and contact info.
The deadline to nominate individuals is Friday, April 18.
Brigade's 'Big Bang 11' on Jan. 25
The Chicago Spirit Brigade ( CSB ) is holding its cabaret show "Big Bang 11: Twisted TV" on Jan. 25, at Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave.
The shows will take place at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Tickets for the earlier show are $20 each, and $25-$60 for the latter event. The second show will have reserved zone seating in multiple price levels and a special raffle prize.

'Hello, Dolly!' with Sally Struthers in Joliet Jan. 23
Hello, Dolly!starring Sally Strutherswill arrive in Joliet, Ill., at The Rialto Square Theatre, 15 E. Van Buren St., to bring the production to stage on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m.
Struthers stars as matchmaker Dolly, who travels to Yonkers, N.Y., to find a match for the ornery "well-known unmarried half-a-millionaire" Horace Vandergelder.

CMSA social party Jan. 25
The Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association ( CMSA ) will hold its annual membership social party Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Joe's Bar, 940 W. Weed St.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and there's free pizza 7-8 p.m.
Among the scheduled activities are karaoke, live performances and a meet-and-greet with American Idol alum Devin Velez.
The cover is free for CMSA members and $10 for non-members; half of the cover will benefit the Bring the Music Initiative. There will be two free drinks to the first 250 female and male CMSA attendees.
