Adam Lambert, the cast of Glee, Johnny Weir, Sofia Vergara, Eric Dane, Chaz Bono, George Takei, Constance McMillen, Candis Cayne, Wilson Cruz, RuPaul and New Orleans Saints linebacker Scott Fujita were among the celebrities who joined the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ( GLAAD ) as it honored Drew Barrymore, Wanda Sykes and the best in film, television and journalism April 17 at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, according to a press release. Iron Chef America's Cat Cora presented the Vanguard Award to Barrymore while Mississippi teen Constance McMillen—whose high school cancelled her prom instead of letting her attend with her girlfriend—presented the Stephen F. Kolzak Award to Sykes, who joked, "This means the world to me and I promise that I will continue to be a voice, and hopefully a positive image, but I've got to tell you—you might have to put up with a stint in rehab, I'm sorry."

Willam Belli, a co-star in the controversial movie Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives, has written an open letter to "Tran Coulter," his name for those who have criticized the film, according to Advocate.com . In the letter, Belli wrote, in part, " [ the fun had while making the film ] was forgotten when all the Tran Coulters Facebooked our fan page with hateful messages like 'Just because a man gets breast implants does not make them a transsexual.' How could anyone be offended by a movie enough to say crap like that? Incorrectly stating that the movie started by mentioning a real-life hate crime confirmed suspicions that Tran Coulter most likely didn't see the movie, only a preview available online."

A source has said that anti-gay model/actor Eduardo Verastegui has denied ever dating now-out singer Ricky Martin, according to Advocate.com . On April 21, the Spanish-language publication TV y Novelas reported that the two used to date—a statement Verastegui has reportedly called "lies." Verastegui, who starred in the movie Chasing Papi and the Jennifer Lopez video for "Ain't It Funny," supported GOP Sen. John McCain's presidential run in 2008 as well as the passage of Prop 8.

Friends actress Lisa Kudrow and Sex and the City actor David Eigenberg will participate in a 25th-anniversary reading of Larry Kramer's influential work The Normal Heart, according to Advocate.com . The play deals with the early years of the AIDS epidemic in New York and the mostly silent reaction that took place in the United States. The reading will take place May 17 at Los Angeles, Calif.'s, Geffen Playhouse.

Openly gay actor Alan Cumming has dropped out of the upcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, according to the New York Times. Cumming—who was going to play the villainous Green Goblin—has departed because of a scheduling conflict, as his role on the TV show The Good Wife has expanded. The long-delayed production was slated to start performances in February, but they were postponed because of money-raising problems for the $50 million musical.

Former American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, 19, was at New York gay nightspot Club 57, and he said he went there to hear friend Charice perform her single, "I Will Survive," GaySocialites.com reported. However, those who thought the singer might come out of the closet should think again. After the event Archuleta tweeted, "Hey guys just wanted to clear something up real quick lol. Last night in New York I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform. Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn't my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn." Making sure it keeps up with the United States' constantly shifting cultural landscape, shopping website Etsy.com has come up with Lady Gaga vinyl iPad covers. The covers were designed by artist Ivy Bee. However, if that's too geeky the site sells just about all things Gaga, from earrings to T-shirts to the Mary Magpie goth Lady Gaga doll.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays one half of the gay couple on TV's Modern Family, has officially come out of the closet in real life. In an interview with OUT magazine, Ferguson talks about everything from his television role to his crushes on the Jonas Brothers. He also admitted having a crush on gold medal-winning skater/Dancing with the Stars contestant Evan Lysacek, saying, "I'm not hiding it. I hear he lives in L.A. too, so it's just a matter of time before we meet. Although I don't know if he's gay.… He's a brilliant skater, and he's also really handsome, and he seems like a really sweet guy, so I swoon when I see him."
