Nominations for the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards for the period of June 1, 2003 through May 31, 2004, were announced July 15 by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Academy's Chairman of the Board & CEO Dick Askin presided, assisted by Edie Falco and Tony Shalhoub. The awards presentation telecast awarding Emmys in 28 categories will be televised by the ABC Television Network Sept. 19. Garry Shandling will host.
