You are at a book signing and you noticed them noticing you. Your eyes lock as if you recognize each other from before. It really isn't anything because they probably think that you are someone they knew in high school, from the old neighborhood or remind them of a co-worker. You look away, look down and move your thoughts to the design pattern in the carpet.
When you look again their eyes dart back to yours through nervous dancing and blinks and something inside of you jumps. This is attraction. You would love to follow it through and explore it, however ... . Something in your life is attracted and recognizes something in their life which didn't ask your permission, run it past your friends and family first nor is it respecting the nice neat little categories you have set up inside of your head.
"They are probably straight," you say to yourself and you are not. Or maybe they are a different culture, which you think could be a problem. No. How about this; they could be the opposite sex and you are gay, this can't be anything; neither of you can control your nervous glances. The intellectual chatter inside of your head continues.
Be quiet and listen. Your life is attracted to their life; your spirit to their spirit. This is not a kiss, sex or a relationship. This is a feeling in a moment you cannot control. These things happen. In this moment you are human, you are spirit, experiencing the unexplainable; you are standing in the possibilities ...what do you do?
