—Italian Village Restaurants, 71 W. Monroe St., has unveiled seasonal dishes. Items include Insalata di Cavolo con Pesca alla Griglia ( baby kale, grilled peach, orange segments, melon, pine nuts, grilled Ricotta Salata, tossed in melon vinaigrette ) and Pasticcino di Granchio ( seared jumbo lump crab cakes, frutta di mostarda puree, calabrian pepper aioli, micro greens, apple jicama slaw ), among others. —River North steakhouse STK is hosting "Summer of STK," a party to celebrate the first day of summer, on Wed., June 21, 7-11 p.m. The evening promises surprises, including the unveiling of the official The Rolling Stones Exhibitionism ice sculpture from KetelOne. Whispering Angel Rose will be poured all night long, and flash prizes—like tickets to The Rolling Stones Exhibitionism—will be awarded throughout the night.
—Chicago restaurant group Ideology Entertainment is slated to reopen Lincoln Park eatery Blue Door Farm Stand, 2010 N. Halsted St., in its more spacious location on Friday, June 23. Shedding its small kitchen, the new location has an open line, full bar, in-house baking program and second-floor atrium dining area. Blue Door Farm Stand will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch.
—Real Urban Barbecue—with locations in Downtown Highland Park, Vernon Hills and Oak Brook—has announced the grand opening of its fourth location in Skokie at 5238 W. Touhy Ave. on Friday, June 23. To celebrate the grand opening, the first 50 'cue fanatics in line will receive a complimentary sandwich of their choice—and the first guest in line will win free barbecue for a year. WLS-AM Radio's Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano will broadcast live from the restaurant all morning long.
—Eataly Chicago will be introducing a new cannoli bar this summer, and will be offering a selection of authentic Sicilian cannoli. To celebrate the new bar, Eataly has teamed with some of Chicago's top pastry chefs, including Dana Cree, Mindy Segal, Sandra Holl, Peter Rios and more to create their own signature cannoli.
—Kanela Breakfast Club, located at 2127 W. Division St. in Ukrainian Village, is now open. Kanela, which means "cinnamon" in Greek, is a breakfast, lunch and contemporary brunch concept that features a sweet and savory menu with everything made in-house. The newest location is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is the sixth Kanela to open in Chicago, with previous locations in Andersonville, Lake View, Old Town, Wicker Park and Streeterville.
—Latin-fusion spot Carnivale, 702 W. Fulton Market, has announced a new lounge menu. Items include smoked chicken croquettes ( with flavors like a roasted spicy buffalo aioli ) and a blueberry Sno-Cone ( featuring Bulleit bourbon with blueberry lavender limoncello ). Carnivale's new lounge menu will is available Monday through Thursday at 4:30-6:30 p.m. for the after-work crowd, and from 9 p.m. till the kitchen closes for the after-hours crowd.
—Seven Lions, 130 S. Michigan Ave., is launching a featured burger and cocktail in conjunction with the Art Institute of Chicago's opening of the "Paul Gauguin: Artist as Alchemist" exhibit on Sunday, June 25. There are the Gauguin Burger ( single beef patty, housemade country pate, pork belly, crispy plantains, grilled pineapple, and a coconut and red cabbage slaw ) and Noa Noa Cocktail ( dark rum, Tahitian vanilla-infused vodka and fruit juice ). The items will be available June 25-Sept. 10.
—Bistro Campagne, 4518 N. Lincoln Ave., is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a special dinner on Thursday, June 29, at 6:30 p.m. The dinner, hosted by Cream Wine Company and created by Executive Chef Luke Creagan, includes a specially chosen Laherte Freres Champagne for each of the five courses. Part of the menu includes poached black tiger shrimp , grapefruit brulee, watercress, white asparagus with horseradish pudding and basil; and diver scallop and lobster frites with popcorn bearnaise sauce.
