—Geneva's All Chocolate Kitchen Primo, 29 S. Third St., has extended its afternoon tea. Beginning again on Jan. 12 and running through Mother's Day, friends and family are invited to indulge with three-time Guinness World Record-holder Chef Alain Roby's sweets, as well as savory items and gourmet teas. —Bar Cargo, 605 N. Wells St., is now offering brunch on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.-3 p.m., with items such as egg-white frittatas, crab and avocado Benedicts and Nutella-stuffed French toasts. In addition to the brunch menu, the full pizzeria menu will also be offered that includes pizzas, salads and more; also, bottomless bloody Marys, mimosas and bellinis are $25. See BarCargo.com .

—In honor of its 10th anniversary, Italian restaurant Prosecco, 710 N. Wells St., is running its "10 for $10" menu ( with $10 items ) through Wed., Jan. 24, Mondays through Fridays at 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Some of the items include rigatoni norcina ( rigatoni, pancetta, mild Italian sausage and light tomato cream sauce ); chicken saltimbocca ( scaloppine of chicken, Prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, tomato, brandy and sage sauce, and caramelized onion mashed potatoes ); chocolate flourless cake and tiramisu; and, of course, prosecco. —Gold Coast spot 20 East, 20 E. Delaware Pl., will host "Tastes of the World Dinner Series: Chinese Dim Sum" ( reflecting Chef Ariel Bagadiong's culinary influences ) on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. The Chinese Dim Sum meal will include foie gras soup dumplings, shrimp and lobster pot stickers, and more. —Staytion, 1 W. Wacker Dr., is holding weekly mixology classes throughout the month. The classes are open to the public and take place every Thursday at 5-7 p.m.; each class is $14, the cost of the cocktail. The classes are "Sphere This" cocktail trends ( Jan. 11 ), "Mezcal Mantra" ( Jan. 18 ) and "Relaxation and Reflection" Hot Tea Infusions ( Jan. 25 ).

—Big Jones, 5347 N. Clark St., kicks off its fourth annual Soul Food Week on Jan. 12-25. Soul Food Week menus include favorites like collard green sandwich, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, spaghetti and oxtails, and peach cobbler. See bigjoneschicago.com .

—The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will present the Jean Banchet Awards for Culinary Excellence—the only Chicago-based awards ceremony that recognizes culinary originality and talent throughout the region—on Sunday, Jan. 14, 6-11 p.m., at Venue SIX10, 610 S. —Holiday Jones, 1659 W. Division St., is offering 5411 empanadas, among other items. Also, guests can enjoy $4 craft beers and $6 cocktails Mondays through Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. as well as $4 glasses of wine on Wednesdays, and $2 Fernet shots and $4 Fernet and Cokes on Thursdays. —Chinese restaurant Imperial Lamian, 6 W. Hubbard St., is offering a line of winter cocktails. Selections include Winter Club ( Sipsmith Gin, Aperol, Elderflower, cranberry, egg white, rhubarb bitters ), White Tiger ( Jack Daniels Rye, housemade cashew syrup ) and Smoked Rose on the Water ( Hana Ho Shu, Lillet Rose, Dill Aquavit, Egg white, smoked sea salt, rose water ). —Dusek's, 1227 W. 18th St., is encouraging people to try its beer program. Beer Director Jeff Van Der Tuuk regularly presents sought-after menu highlights and hands-on beer education, including rare finds and rotating sours. —River Roast, 315 N. LaSalle St., is offering $8 mocktails for "Dry January." Items include Get Smashed ( lemon, sage, ginger, hibiscus and local honey soda ), Cosmo Cobbler ( orange, lime, cranberry shrub, orgeat and charged water as well as almond ) and the Sasparilla Sling ( root beer essence, tonic syrup, molasses and maple local soda ), among others.

—On Sunday, Jan. 21, six of Chicago's most well-respected chefs and mixologists will come together at GreenRiver, 259 E. Erie St., to raise money and awareness for mental health. The benefit dinner, entitled "121 Plates," symbolizes the 121 Americans who complete suicide each day, and gives participating chefs a platform to break the silence about suicide prevention in the hospitality industry and beyond. The evening consists of a one-time-only, six-course dinner with optional beverage pairings prepared by Brian Ahern ( Boeufhaus ), Aaron Lirette ( GreenRiver ), Ryan McCaskey ( Acadia ), Ryan Pfeiffer ( Blackbird ), Andrew Zimmerman ( Sepia/Proxi ) and Laura Kelton ( Sportsman's Club ). —Morton's The Steakhouse, 65 E. Wacker Pl., is hosting a Baderbrau beer dinner on Friday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. ( The reception is at 6:30 p.m. ) Items will include chef's gourmet pizza, cheddar beer soup, filet mignon and chocolate banana-cream pie. —Operation Taste 2018 will take place Monday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Avalon Banquets, 1905 E. Higgins Rd., Elk Grove Village.
