—The Kendall College Charitable Trust will hold its annual gourmet dinner fundraising event Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Kendall College, 900 N. North Branch St., at 6:30 p.m. The event includes a four-course dinner prepared by distinguished School of Culinary Arts alumni, including executive chef Shawn McClain of Sage at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and owner of Chicago eateries Green Zebra and Custom House; and executive chef Ryan Pitts of RL Restaurant. —The Rockit Bar & Grill restaurants are offering "WingIt" specials. Rockit River North will be celebrating through Sept. 16 and Rockit Wrigley will offer "WingIt" Sept. 15-16. —Lillie's Q, where chef/owner Charlie McKenna serves award-winning competition BBQ in Bucktown, 1856 W. North Ave., will launch the "Lillie's Q Meat Mobile" food truck. The 24-foot long Ford truck was still awaiting inspection from the City of Chicago, but should be out now. —Share Our Strength—a non-profit organization working to end childhood hunger—is holding its annual Dine Out for No Kid Hungry Sunday, Sept. 18-Saturday, Sept. 24. Participating restaurants include ItaliAsia restaurant in the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, Phil Stefani's 437 Rush, RIVA Crab House, and Tuscany Restaurant in Oak Brook and Wheeling. —The new LEED-certified 60,000-square-foot Culinary & Hospitality Center, located on the College of DuPage campus in Glen Ellyn, will soon be home to a fine dining restaurant and boutique hotel. The elegant 150-seat Waterleaf Restaurant and six-room Inn at Water's Edge are scheduled to open mid-October. Executive Chef Jean-Louis Clerc has worked alongside some of Europe's best chefs in the country's finest restaurants, such as La Cote d'Or in Saulieu, France (Michelin 3) and The Capitol Hotel in London, England (Michelin 1).

—Chicago Health, 22 W. Maple St., will hold a free seminar, "Anti-Aging & Fitness: Separating Fact from Fiction," Wed., Sept. 14, 6-7 p.m. Issues covered will include the use of raw protein and raw resveratrol. RSVP by calling 312-642-2220.

—The Guinness Oyster Fest will take place at 2000 W. Roscoe; it will be 6-10 p.m. Sept. 16 and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 17. —The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, will present a Culinary Conversation with local farmers and vendors who are giving back to the community Wed., Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at Chicago's Downtown Farmstand, 66 E. Randolph St. Businesses slated to appear include First Slice, Sweet Miss Giving's, Co-op Image and the editor of Soup and Bread.

—Hundreds of food lovers, cultural connoisseurs and socialites are expected to sample world-class food, savor culinary spectacle and preview the new National Hellenic Museum, 333 S. Halsted St., before its official opening at Kouzina, the museum's three-day benefit showcasing Mediterranean culinary arts and Chicago's trendiest chefs and artisans.
