Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce announced "Dine Out on Broadway," one of Chicago's first street closures open for outdoor dining and is part of Mayor Lori Lightfoot's "Make Way for Dining" pilot program.
Thirty restaurants and food establishments will participate as Broadway is closed to traffic from Belmont Avenue to Diversey Parkway. Some spots include Bombay Wraps, Mortar and Pestle, Johnson's Real Ice Cream, Crisp, and Wilde Bar and Restaurant.
The "Dine Out on Broadway" hours will be Friday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends of June 12-14 and June 19-21. NOTE: The official opening for the public is Friday, June 12, at 4 p.m. The 36 bus on Broadway will be rerouted ( check the CTA website for updates ), and Barry, Oakdale and Briar streets will become two-way thoroughfares.
