Designs for Dignity's annual fundraising gala, "Spirit of Design," will take place Thursday, May 19, 6-10 p.m., and will celebrate more than 20 years of impact on Chicago's nonprofit community.
The event will take place at Theater on the Lake, 2401 N. DuSable Lake Shore Dr.
Guests will mix and mingle as they enjoy haute cuisine, craft cocktails, raffle prizes, live entertainment by Mike Zabrin's Funktastic Productions and more.
Regarding Designs for Dignity, interior designers, architects and other industry professionals donate time to create what it calls "healing environments" for its service grant recipients. Manufacturers, vendors, craftsmen, clients and showrooms provide furnishings and materials that are reused in the spaces. Individuals and community advocates complete the team to implement and carry through the organization's mission for each project.
Current grantees include Good News Partners, Chicago Lighthouse, Cornerstone Services, The Harbour, Cove School and the Center for Independence. Future projects involve DuPage PADS, McGaw YMCA Men's Residences and the Chicago Jesuit Academy.
Tickets are $200 each; visit www.designs4dignity.org/events/spirit-of-design/ . |
