Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, from the '80s pop-music scene, teamed for a tour that ended with a stop at the House of Blues in Chicago over the weekend.
The two supposed past rivals shook up the stage for a duet of "Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves." Right out of the box the two looked amazing, with Tiffany explaining how much weight she lost over the course of tour. It was a night of covers with Debbie stumbling on the lyrics for "Hey Mickey," stating "I always forget the words." Tiffany did an outstanding job on Stevie Nicks' hit "Edge of Seventeen." Her country music had a rock 'n' roll vibe, working with her alto. The crowd mouthed along with the words, with each singer doing a solo set as the floor constantly bounced, only stopping at intermission.
"Feelings Are Forever" really connected with the audience as Tiffany accidentally popped a fan in the head with her microphone. She stopped to apologize and even let the victim sing a bit. Sure, there were a few bumps in the road but the pop princesses really brought the past hits of "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Shake Your Love" to a packed house of retro fans who many will remember in their dreams.
